The Watches For Weddings story

I thought it would be useful to share the story of Watches for Weddings with you so you can see how our family-run business is making a pocket watch-sized difference to weddings around the world.

It began in 2012 when me and my soon-to-be wife, Sarah, were getting married. We were searching for gifts for our Best Man and Ushers that were:

  • both quality and value-for-money,
  • personalised
  • a memento of our day.

We really struggled to find something that met our needs!

We managed to source the perfect pocket watch that matched our vintage theme but to make the gift extra special, I made some bespoke Rosewood presentation boxes and attached an engraved plate personalised with the groomsmen's name and the date of the wedding on.

I gifted them to my groomsmen party on the morning of the wedding and the guys absolutely loved them. They were touched by the thoughtful gesture and I've never seen a group of lads check the time more in one day!

Following the wedding, I always had a feeling that pocket watch gifts would make a great business. A couple of years later, I decided to give it a go and Watches For Weddings was born.

The business has grown in size since and we have since provided pocket watches for thousands of weddings across the world including New York, Malaysia, Canada, Sweden, Denmark, Ireland and the U.K.

We’ve also branched out to Bridesmaid gifts and our personalised bracelets meet our promise of being both quality and value-for-money, personalised and a memento of your special day.

It has been a privilege to play a small role in so many weddings and we have received hundreds of touching reviews and feedback. You can see some of these on the Testimonials page on the WFW website.

In our next blog post, I will be talking about our pocket watches in more detail. This will be added to our blog page very soon!

Thank you for taking the time to learn about Watches For Weddings, I hope you will continue to watch our company grow.
