In early 2012, I was getting ready to get married! As is the case with many grooms, I had two designated jobs; a) sort out the suits and b) pick the thank you gifts for my best men and ushers.
I wanted to give them something that was both personalised and quality as well as being different to the typical gifts (hip flasks, tankards, pens etc) that you see given out at weddings.
I really struggled!
So, I managed to source some mechanical brass pocket-watches, had quality Rosewood boxes made and had a metal plate engraved with the groomsmen's name and the date of the wedding on.
They went down an absolute treat.
The boys were touched by the gesture and I've never seen a group of lads check the time more in one day!
What it also did was plant a seed of an idea in my mind...
